Print on petite ladies such as myself is a bit hit and miss. Generally, the bigger the print, the more overwhelming it is on women who are a bit vertically challenged, especially if it’s longer piece of clothing like a maxi dress of maxi skirt.
Those who are 5’2″ or shorter know that we are much more suited to smaller prints, like leopard, especially when paired with an elongating item of clothing, say a slim pencil skirt or streamlined trousers.
I absolutely love leopard print, but I personally find leopard print clothing a little overwhelming for me. Perhaps it just doesn’t suit my own style, which tends to be a bit more laidback – leopard screams for attention! I do however love a good leopard print shoe, and these Kate Spade flats I’ve used in this outfit are no exception.
Also, for this 13 going on 30 outfit I’ve created a “faux” shirt with the jumpsuit by layering the black skirt over it, thus turning it into a sleeveless blouse. I often do this with shorter dresses, layering a knee-length skirt or maxi skirt over it to make it a top instead. This is a great trick if you like the top half of the jumpsuit or dress, although it does make going to the toilet a little tricky.
What prints do you like? Let me know!
