It’s getting cold and I have ZERO sweaters in my current capsule wardrobe. I’m feeling a little uninspired and to be honest a little bored.

In my last post I wrote about my typical momiform and what I usually reach for to put together an easy outfit when life as a mum gets crazy. Today’s post is about my work uniform – my work outfit staples that I reach for to create office-appropriate outfits for those mornings when I haven’t had much sleep the night before (which is most nights).
Almost every mum/mom out there will have a “mumiform” or “momiform” – their go-to outfit when they’re short of time or can’t be bothered thinking about what they’re going to wear. Having a momiform makes dressing for the day a lot easier (especially when you’ve had 2-3 hours of sleep and choosing coordinates is the last thing on your mind).
One of the things I love to do in my (limited) spare time is to take an old or thrifted item and transform it into something new.
Do you remember back in the late 90s when wearing skirts over pants or jeans was a trend?
My capsule wardrobe outfit this weekend came from a very welcome (and much needed) source of inspiration.
Do you ever wake up in the morning thinking about shoes?
So I lost my prescription sunglasses a couple of weeks ago, which was a bit annoying because 1. if I’m not wearing them in sunlight there’s a hell of a lot of squint factor due to bad eyesight and glare (not so good for the old wrinkles); and 2. other than a pair of cheapy mirrored glasses that I bought on holiday in the Philippines they’re the only sunnies I had.
Fun fact: my husband and I eloped to Las Vegas for our wedding!
Sometimes, the clothes I have in my capsule wardrobe aren’t going to cut it when it comes to creating an outfit for a special occasion. As a working mum of two little ones, such occasions aren’t a regular part of my calendar, so when they do come around I want to wear something that’s not part of my everyday wardrobe.
