First winter capsule wardrobe outfit and I think I’ve already identified a potential casualty.
I received this window print top by Next as a gift, and I loved the print and the drape detail at the front. However, before I tried it on, I stored it away, knowing that it would make its appearance for my winter capsule wardrobe.
Today was a pretty relaxed day doing a few errands so I knew I needed something comfortable to keep my moving. The relaxed fit of the top was the perfect choice.
However, after having tried it on for the first time, I would say it’s a little too relaxed for me. I’m totally into loose fitting tops, especially after kid #2, but this was a bit too loose, especially on my short frame. If you look closely in this photo, you can see the actual length of the top at the back – by leaving it untucked, I felt top overwhelmed my petite stature.
Having said that, it is wonderfully comfortable, the cotton is lovely and soft, and did I mention I loved the print? So I’m not sure about this top, I’ll keep it for now, but I’d love to hear what you think 🙂
I paired it with a pair of ABrand jeans that I thrifted from Kirribilli Markets a couple of weeks ago – this pair ticks both the “grey jeans” and “ripped knees” checkboxes for my winter capsule. Rather than hemming it, I just cut it off the excess length and let the ends fray.
The Sportsgirl loafers I wore for the first time today, and I have to say I am digging them. I love the shape, they’re quite comfy, and I like that they go with jeans. You know how sometimes there are certain flats that don’t go with jeans? These pair well with them, even if they’re ripped.
This thrifted felt hat is a godsend, especially with all the bad hair days I’ve been having.
