Thank you lovely people for your well wishes! I’m feeling a lot better, even if the cold and cough haven’t gone away. It was a long weekend in Sydney this weekend and I spent most of it gloriously outfitted in tracksuit pants and wellington boots as my husband and I caught up on household chores that we normally don’t get to do.
A post on the life of a non-famous mummy style blogger is possibly coming up in the next week or so – this is just one example of the reality of it – doing gardening and housework instead of being dressed up and casually posing in front of whitewashed walls. Believe you me, I would rather be doing that, except no-one else is going to take care of the kids and/or do the stuff that needs to be done around the house that has been sorely neglected because we’ve been busy with the kids; to me, right now, the latter two are more of a priority.
So as I spent most of the weekend covered in soil, I decided to wear something other than dagwear with what little I had left of the holiday Monday.
I haven’t been able to wear my DIY/refashioned dress to flared sleeve top much so far. I made the top a little shorter than I normally would like, so need to wear high-waisted pants or skirts with them, like this thrifted Country Road denim skirt. I first spied this skirt on Instagram last year and had balked at the price when I investigated at the store, so was super lucky to find it at my local Salvation Army op shop in my size.
While the sun was shining brightly in Sydney today, there was a chill in the air so boots were a necessity.
Mind you, you’d think I had dressed up with somewhere to go in mind; in reality, I was just going down the road to get a coffee from one of my favourite local cafes. At least I wasn’t rocking up in my soiled covered tracksuit and gumboots.
