After seeing some of my favourite Instagrammers wearing draped vests, I thought it would make a great addition to my spring wardrobe to add an additiona layer of interest (and warmth, given the hot/cold mood of spring in Sydney at the moment). I did my “research” and tried on a few for myself. Unfortunately, due to my petiteness, the draped vests they seemed to overwhelm my frame – they were either too long or had too much fabric. Another Instagrammer was wearing a sleeveless blazer and I really liked that look – polished yet casual at the same time. Rather than scouring the shops I decided it was an easy enough look to DIY on the cheap. I went to my local thrift store and bought an $8 light blue blazer which was the perfect length and size for me, it just needs the sleeves chopped off, which I’ll be doing while I watch the finale of The Bachelorette (sssshhhhhh).
