Well, my fascination with black dungarees has reached tipping point, and I picked up this Witchery pair at the end-of-financial-year-sale with an extra 30% off:
It’s made of coated denim and is slim-fitting, which makes it a little more grown up than the dungarees of my high school days. Also, it was the perfect length for me, hitting at my ankle so no need to hem (and if I wanted it a little shorter, it’s nothing a simple fold under couldn’t fix). With this addition to my winter capsule wardrobe, I decided to take out my ABrand waxed denim jeans (as I found myself constantly hiking up the waist so they could fit comfortably) and replace them with this. This means my winter capsule wardrobe count remains at 47/50 items.
As per usual I have made a Pinterest board as inspiration to create outfits, and here are a few of my favourites. Naturally stripes feature in a fair few outfits, but there’s just something so perfect about the pairing.
My love for denim shirts has been professed plenty of times on the blog, and here it makes yet another appearance. This will definitely feature in one of my outfit posts either here or on Instagram.
Chiara of The Blonde Salad making dungarees look effortless. I pretty much have the striped shirt and the leopard print sneakers so this is an easy outfit to recreate.
The lace top I recently added to the winter capsule makes this another easy outfit to recreate. I love the combination of tough and pretty.
I warned you about stripes being a prominent feature in my pins. I like the pairing with pointy flats to make the ensemble a little more feminine.
Ah Olivia, always so effortless. While it’s basically an all black outfit, the sheerness of the top makes it less like one big column of black. Those flats are to die for.
I really like the boho/androgynous mix here – those juxtapositions really make an outfit interesting. I have a little treat in mind for myself (and will share once it’s been fulfilled), and this outfit gives me an idea for how to style that treat!
Stay tuned to see how I style the black dungarees for winter with the other items from my winter capsule wardrobe!
