So for a lot of you the weather might be glorious and sunny, but in Sydney it has become rather cold and crisp.
I do normally love layering up for winter, but I think the cold snap has hit me by surprise this year and I feel like I haven’t been prepared for it.
To keep me motivated to dress in things other than sweats for the next three months, here are some of my favourite images from Pinterest:
My favourite French fashionista Audrey Lombard in a simple monochromatic casual winter outfit. This one I can recreate quite easily and in fact may do so this week.
I need some more ideas on how to wear my black leather jacket which I bought off ebay; I like how this outfit juxtaposes the femininity of the top with the toughness of the jacket. Of course the hair is totally to die for.
My favourite blogger Sincerely Jules mixing up prints with stripes and leopard sneakers. Again another outfit I could recreate except for the coat, and I don’t have the bright red bag – I love how it really pops against the otherwise neutral outfit (because leopard is a neutral, right?).
My only dress inspired image for the post – of course, in all black except for the tartan scarf. I’m still on the hunt for that perfect little black dress.
I’m not the biggest fan of camel but I love that epic window pane scarf and the simple styling with skinny jeans and white kicks.
Layering a grey cardi under the black leather moto, accompanied by a basic white tee, black ponte pants and loafers makes for an effortless yet toasty outfit.
High-waisted jean goodness. I’m really into these Harry Highpants versions and the simple styling with grey and black.
I’m not really into floral print but I love love love how this print is against the black. Wearing it with raw uneven hem black jeans and boots really toughens up the print. The grey cardi just looks ridiculously warm.
Sincerely Jules again in another leather jacket outfit – can we talk about how incredibly cool she makes wearing sweats is? Perhaps there’s hope yet for wearing sweats all winter.
Another perfect monochromatic outfit, that blush handbag is the perfect finish.
As you can see I’ve chosen mainly jeans and leather jackets in my inspiration, along with mainly blacks and greys as the colour palette. For some reason I’m just drawn to these colours in winter… well really, all year round. The way to make the outfit more interesting is through accessories, like the window pane scarf, bright red and blush bag.
Am I ready for winter? Now I am!
