Do you ever wake up in the morning thinking about shoes?
OK so that wasn’t my first thought when I woke up this morning – it was “Please baby boy go back to sleep” after being woken up by a happily chirping 13 month old at 6:00am.
After resigning myself to the fact that he wouldn’t go back to sleep, I dragged myself out of bed and groggily thought about the day – and it occurred to me that I hadn’t worn my lace up booties from my autumn capsule for a while. So I’d already decided what shoes I was going to wear for the day before I’d even had breakfast.
With these shoes in mind I worked upwards – deciding to wear my Rollas jeans as I hadn’t worn them for a little while either, along with my essentials striped shirt. The khaki jacket was a necessary layer with the dreariness of Sydney’s weather today.
Although my day was pretty unremarkable with a visit to a couple of op shops/thrift stores (for a little refashion post coming up), I was determined to wear these shoes, impractical as they were for rummaging around a thrift store with two kids. Thankfully I was in and out of the stores pretty quickly so the experience wasn’t too painful. As you can see in the photos, not only did I score what I needed for my refashion project, but I also got a great black felt hat which I’d been thinking about getting for a while anyway. It’ll be the perfect topper for covering my mullet hair during winter (growing out that pixie cut is taking ages).
Does anyone else plan their outfits based on their shoes?
