Review: Nordgreen Infinity Watch

My Nordgreen watch review on the Infinity Watch in Rose Gold Mesh and how it might possibly be my new favourite everyday watch!

When I was a kid, I used to love Swatch watches with all their bright colours and designs. As a teen, I wore the oversized Casio Baby G-Shock watches in sorbet colours.

However, these days I’m much more drawn to minimalist watches, with simple faces, bezels and straps. It’s just so much easier to coordinate minimalist watches with my other jewellery, and goes with pretty much everything in my mostly neutral wardrobe.

Not only that, but the minimalism movement has been something I’ve been really into the last year, and have looked to the Scandinavians for inspiration, who are probably the ultimate minimalists in terms of design and lifestyle. Nordgreen is a Danish watch label that embraces its Nordic approach to minimalism, with a range of sleek watches that are a perfect combination of functionality and minimalist design.

When Nordgreen reached out for me to try one of their watches, it was hard to decide which one as they all appealed to the budding minimalist in me. However, I went with the Infinity watch in Rose Gold Mesh for a change to my usual silver and black watches.

I have to admit, I was a bit wary of how the mesh watch would fit me. I have tiny wrists – I always have to get extra holes punched or links removed from my watch straps, and have steered clear of mesh straps because a) you can’t shorten them and b) they have no way to put extra holes in.

When the watch arrived, of course the watch at its default position was too big for me so I needed to adjust it to fit.  I discovered that I could adjust the mesh strap so that it could fit my wrist perfectly.

MIND BLOWN. A mesh strap watch that finally fits my wrist without hacking the strap!

The design itself is simple, because really all a watch needs to do is to tell the time. And even though it’s minimalist in design, the rose gold mesh is enough on its own – it doesn’t need any other accessories on accoutrements to make an impact.

I love the subtlety of the rose gold – it’s not too flashy like other metallic watches, so while it doesn’t really need anything else the watch can easily go with silver or gold accessories for a mixed metal effect.

Because of its minimalist design and being very easy to wear with pretty much everything I own, it’s become one of my favourite everyday watches to slip on in the mornings and help elevate a simple “mum uniform”.

I also love that Nordgreen is a company that embodies social responsibility, so that any purchase gives you the opportunity to select a cause for the company to contribute towards. There’s no need to donate anything additional, the company will put a part of your purchase to that case. Each watch has a serial number so you can track the impact of your purchase towards that cause.

I went with Cool Earth, as my 5 year old and I have been talking about the importance of trees and what we need to do to ensure we protect them.

    1. Thanks Mica! I do love this watch. Rose gold was never high on my radar but this is a nice shade. It’s a pleasant change from my usual metallics 😀
