An embroidered blouse and jeans outfit for Mother’s Day on a cold Sydney Sunday.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there. I woke up to children screaming “HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY” and an omelette cooked by hubby.
The Kirribilli Markets were on today and hubby took care of the kidlets while I had the morning off to do some thrifting and bargain hunting. I was specifically after a black skirt and blazer, but there are always excellent bargains to be had at these markets so I may have picked up some other things too (see below).
After the markets, hubby, the kiddos and I had a lovely picnic by the water.
My Mother’s Day outfit had to take into account the warm start to the day which quickly turned cold around 11:00 with the impending rain. The fabric of this embroidered Next blouse is great for these transition seasons – heavier than linen so it can hold against its own with the cool breeze. The balloon sleeves are a fun detail and of course I can’t get enough embroidery in my wardrobe.
I picked up these jeans a few weeks ago at Glebe Markets (another one of my favourite markets) for $20. Even if I’m actually after something specific, I’ll always keep my eye out for jeans (apparently 8 pairs aren’t enough).
The Benah cuff was bought from Kirribilli Markets for $5. I just love accessorising with rock and roll inspired cuffs.
Wearing: Next embroidered blouse | Acne Needle jeans (bought secondhand) | Prada ankle boots (bought secondhand through Facebook)
As for my Kirribilli Markets haul:
I hope you had a fabulous Sunday, mama or otherwise!
