I’ve been obsessed with the blog Unfancy since I discovered it two years ago, and have often thought about starting a capsule wardrobe – the concept of having a minimal closet to save time on outfit selection (as well as having a more organised wardrobe space) really appealed to the slightly OCD side of myself.
I’ve written a post on sugarmamma.tv on the 1o ways to wear a chambray shirt, and it inspired me to share my favourite way to wear it – with leather, specifically black leather.
Not so long ago I would balk at the idea of paying a lot of money for jeans. I figured, most jeans are designed for those 5’4″ and above and I’d have to cut off a good chunk for them to fit me lengthwise, plus factor in the cost of a tailor (if I couldn’t be bothered hemming them myself),…
OK so I will freely admit that I wear jeans A LOT. It’s basically my second skin, and I would probably wear them every freakin’ day if I could sew them onto myself.
Happy New Year! How was your holiday break?
I love #fwis Instagram posts – given my shoe obsession, these shots give shoes the attention they deserve while providing a nice top down view of the full outfit. I’ve got to improve my shot game though – it can take me quite a few attempts to get the perfect FWIS pic!

Man, was the 13 going on 30 capsule wardrobe a definite challenge! But I’m so pleased I was able to pull it off. It definitely shows that with a bit of creativity you can have a minimalist wardrobe, and that you don’t need to have a wardrobe bursting at the seams to create outfits that fit your life.
I did it! Who would have thought, 30 outfits from only 13 items of clothing? It was DEFINITELY a challenge, believe me, but it did get my stylist head into gear to create some practical yet stylish outfits that could work in a variety of situations.
