Wishlist: Floral Vintage Shirt Dress

I’m thinking about adding a vintage shirt dress to my wardrobe, in a pretty floral print.

My cousin has vintage shirt dress collection as part of her interest in all things rockabilly and swing, and I’ve always loved the style. It’s not something I’ve got in my wardrobe though, mainly because #mumlife.

However, I have a few functions coming up and the thought of a nice dress to wear to these functions popped into my head. The shirt dress style is really versatile – pair with ballerina flats or ankle boots for day, change into heels for a night out. Gotta love multitasking dresses!

I also love a pretty floral print but my preference is usually a floral print on a dark background. With the dress and this floral print in mind I then started thinking about a shirt dress in a vintage style with a floral print. (Specific much?)

Below are some of my favourite picks for a floral print vintage shirt dress:

Unique 21 floral shirt dress ($63.80) – Lipsy

Floral print dress with turned down collar ($26.35)Rosegal

Alexia Admor Sleeveless Floral Shirt Dress ($92) – Nordstrom Rack

Floral fit and flare dress ($20.80)Rosegal

Turned down collar flower knee length dress ($16.41)Rosegal

Floral Embroidered T-Shirt Dress by 3.1 Phillip Lim (from $339) – Farfetch

Floral Print Shirt Dress by Marc Jacobs ($804) – Farfetch

Floral Print Twisted Panel Shirt Dress by MSGM ($350) – Matches Fashion

I could even see myself wearing some of these dresses with a pair of crisp white sneakers – even though they’re printed, the dark background makes them work well with a lot of footwear choices.

Given my preference for jeans and a tee/sweatshirt for most days, it would be nice to wear something different to change up the mum uniform – I know my 4 year old would approve of any of the above dresses!

  • These are beautiful dresses! I have a floral print dress with a black background in my wardrobe that I really should get out again – I don’t have a lot of floral print in my wardrobe but I do enjoy the pieces I have 🙂 Hope you find your perfect shirt dress soon – you’ve shared some lovely options in the post.

    • Thanks Mica! I’ve been a bit uninspired with my wardrobe of late so adding some floral touches (which I don’t normally have) would be nice 🙂

  • Oh wow that last dress from MSGM is my favourite.
I have to admit I do not own many floral printed garments but they are a treat to look at.

    • Yes me too! I love the look of floral outfits but sometimes I think I can’t do them justice. The MSGM is just gorgeous isn’t it? A bit of saving needed for it but it’s so beautiful. xx
