With this gorgeous sunny weather it’s hard to believe that it’s still technically winter in Sydney.
There hasn’t been a drop of rain, which isn’t great for the garden, but the weather has just been so good you just can’t stay in the house.
When getting out and about with the kids it’s all about comfort and movement, as you never know when you have to run after an escaping toddler.
While it’s still not quite warm enough for sleeveless shirts, light layers were great for when the day warmed up and then cooled down in the afternoon. This Zara jacket I bought from a local seller on Carousell was the perfect outer layer – all cotton so it’s breathable but with a bit of weight for when it got chilly.
The love-them-or-hate-them Bassike drop crotch pants are also great for running around after kids. Wearing the pants with the embroidered jacket called for dressier shoes than sneakers, but I still needed something comfy. The Topshop loafers are always my choice for the comfy-yet-dressy option. (Given how many times I’ve worn them since I bought them last year, I wonder if I had bought the Gucci versions would my cost-per-wear be justified? Hmmmm.)
Mr 2 year old has been obsessed with his balance bike and every chance he gets he’ll jump on the bike and have a spin. It’s only the last couple of weeks that he’s been able to actually sit on the seat, but now he can and he’s pretty much unstoppable on the bike.
Today we went to Sydney Park and gave the kids an outlet for their energy by letting them whiz around on the bike track. It’s a great park for getting kids to learn how to use their wheels as it’s mostly flat and there’s even functioning lights to teach them road rules.
Mr 2 of course LOVED it.
