Bye blogging world!

Sadly I’ll need to step back from blogging… click through to find out why.

If you’re a regular visitor to the blog (thank you so so much by the way), you’ve noticed that I haven’t blogged at all since coming back from my holiday.

A few things for this, the primary reason being I’m just so time poor. If you’re a homemaker and someone brazenly asks you what it is that you do all day, please give them a slap on the cheek for me. Being a stay at home mum is hard work. I feel like I’m never on top of any of the things I need to get done around the house. Add to that looking after the kids, their associated after school activities, family commitments etc and I’m barely keeping my head above water. I had so many ideas to blog about, but just being time poor meant I never got around to them.

The second I touched on in my Instagram Stories a week or so ago… having come back from holidays, I have just felt the strongest urge to pursue activities that brought joy in my life. Investing more in experiences and things that make happy memories. In the last few months or so I was really beginning to feel blogging was a chore… rather than feeling excited about writing a blog post, I felt like it was just another thing on my to-do list that I didn’t really want to do, but had to do.

Thirdly, and related to what I mentioned above about investing in things that made me happy, I’ve also decided to try and take more care of myself. The adage that “happy wife [or mum], happy life” is 100% true. I hadn’t been exercising, really looking after my health, eating pretty crappily because of that fact that I’m time poor.

In the last couple of months I started doing kickboxing classes which has been incredibly satisfying – punching and kicking a bag is rather cathartic. However, guess when I am able to do those classes? In the evening, when hubby has finished work and can put the kids off to bed. This was prime blogging time, and often when I came home hubby and I still had our regular chores to do, which just ate into any blogging time I had.

Will this be the last of my blogging days? Possibly not – I really did enjoy writing and sharing thoughts and ideas with you – but at this stage I’m not sure what this would look like, if at all!

So massive THANK YOU to those who have regularly visited my blog. I really enjoyed sharing my insights, style and ideas with you and I hope you’ve been inspired and informed by my blog posts. If there’s anything that you really liked please go ahead and screenshot / copy and paste the content. Also, if there’s anything you want me to keep doing let me know – I may try to ramp up my Instagram (and/or Facebook page) to have that content depending on demand and what you would like to see more of.
