It’s Day 5 of the flu bug and I’m still feeling crappy. However, thank you to those who have wished me well, you’ve put a smile to my face 🙂
So although I’m still fighting this illness, taking care of the kidlets doesn’t stop. I normally dag around in leggings and an oldie-but-a-goodie-hoodie when I’m hanging out with the rugrats at home, this time I thought I’d actually get a little bit more dressed up, on the off chance I would feel good enough to drag my sick and sorry self out of the house and do something outdoors. No such luck getting out – I was actually meant to write this post last night, because the blogging doesn’t stop either, right? – but was struck down with a migraine for the rest of the afternoon.
The denim shirt comes from my autumn capsule – it’s been a hard-working item in my wardrobe and I have no plans to get rid of it anytime soon. Extremely versatile, easy to wear and wash, and the colour is just right for my skin tone.
The polka dot pants are new-to-me, another one of the items I bought from the lovely girl selling her Gorman stock at Rozelle Markets. I am really loving these pants – so much fun to wear, and the blue really lends itself to a variety of other colours too, thus extending the possibilities of what it can be worn with. The other great thing about these pants is that they’re high-waisted! I don’t know what took me so long to jump on that train; they’re so much more comfy than the plumber’s crack jeans I wore for most of the noughties, and an easier way to lengthen my legs without surgery.
I think I mentioned in my post on my 50 item winter capsule wardrobe why I bought these Topshop sneakers – I had seen them on a blog and had to have them – I mean, star print is so darn cute. Why shouldn’t we kidults have fun too? They’re a different take on the white sneaker trend, and it helps that they are pretty good dupes of the Saint Laurent version.

So it was indeed a Blue Thursday for me, in terms of outfit and my health 🙁 Here’s to a healthier weekend!
