I absolutely love Leandra from Man Repeller and how she gives zero #&@%s about what people think of her outfits.
So you’ll see the likes of clogs, cropped flared jeans, feathers, super oversized knits on her site… yes, she does work in the fashion industry so she can get away with these, but she’s a great example of how you can express yourself through clothes and incorporate some fun into your wardrobe.
I saw this picture of Leandra recently on one of the blogs I frequent…
… and I thought, I’ve got all that I need to recreate this outfit! (She’s wearing green clogs on her feet, which I don’t have alas).
Here’s my take on Leandra’s outfit:
I wasn’t super convinced about the off shoulder trend as I’m still breastfeeding and strapless nursing bras don’t exist. However, I found a simple bandeau bra works perfectly fine as it can be easily folded down when Milk Vampire starts getting hungry. (I bought mine from Bras N Things but you can also get them at Kmart.)
There are loads of off shoulder tops out there, but I just like the simplicity of this one by Lily Loves at Target. The embroidery detail adds some extra femininity to the top (which is nice for me as I tend to be a little tomboyish in my styling); it’s not shown as I’ve tucked the top in, but there’s also embroidered detail at the bottom hem of the top so there’s the option to wear it loose as well. Unlike Leandra, I added a belt to the outfit because… I just like belts.
I also just realised I have some good tank top tan lines going on in these photos.
Have you jumped on the off shoulder trend bandwagon? (ah, don’t you love the wordplay!)
