Breaking out of my black and grey comfort zone with a colourful graphic sweatshirt!
So normally in winter (or really year round) I’m a neutrals kinda gal. Give me black, white and grey with the odd tan thrown in and I’m happy.
There are times however when I need a injection of colour… this may or may not coincide with a spike in hormones.
When I do have a hankering for colour I’ll more often than not go for red. I think it’s because red goes really well with all the shades I normally have in my wardrobe, so it makes for a nice pop of colour whenever I feel the urge.
It was the perfect answer to Day 1 of my wardrobe challenge “wear a bright colour combo”. Red and pink are actually really great together! Flamingos are also my favourite animal so when you combine red and a flamingo I was sold.
In addition to my own wardrobe challenge (check out my Instagram and the hashtag #5feetofstylewardrobechallenge) I’m popping in and out of the Team Style File #WinterStyleFile Instagram style challenge, which I did last year. The sweatshirt was also perfect for the first day of the challenge, which was #colourmakesmehappy. Which it does, whenever I crave it!
I’m wearing a size S in the sweatshirt, which fits fine but is a little snug, so I’d probably size up for a more slouchy look (which I perfer in my sweatshirts). It’s getting pretty chilly in Sydney so the added layer of a button down shirt underneath was very necessary!
