Outfit: On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

While yes, this post was published on a Monday, the outfit I’m writing about was actually written last Wednesday (you know, blogging schedules, life etc) so I did really wear pink on Wednesday.

I whipped up another version of the chunky cardigan I wrote about in this post, this time using reverse stocking stitch as per the pattern instructions and some minor changes (mainly to the sleeves). For this cardigan, I used 7 balls of Paton’s Super Quick Yarn in Rose.

My knitting still needs a lot of work, but practice makes perfect as they say. The cardigan also does get rather hairy after only a couple of wears.

For the longest time I eschewed pink, thinking it was too girly for my mainly tomboyish style. However, as mentioned previously regarding colour, I’ve been wanting to move away from my neutral wardrobe. Only certain shades of pink suit my skin tone (for example, baby pink just does not work for me), but I took a chance with this rose pink yarn.

When styling this cardigan I find pairing it with lighter shades of denim and white work best. Being relatively new to wearing pink however, I’d love to hear your ideas on what colours/clothes I can wear with it!

  1. I love the sweater you knitted – perfect blush pink – and all the bohemian street appeal of this entire look. Great booties.

Welcome by this Thursday and every Thursday to link up. Thanks, Ada. =)

  2. That’s a beautiful cosy cardi – you’re so talented knitting 2 of them now! I like this pink shade on you. I love pink and purple, pink and grey, and pink and any and all shades of blue! I’ve also tried olive and blush recently, stepping out of my comfort zone a little, and quite liked the combo!

    1. Thanks Mica! I’m quite picky with my shades of pink. I love the pink and olive combo – I might just have to try that!
