Style Trends To Look Out For This Winter

Put your best foot forward with these top style trends to look out for this winter.

Do you struggle with winter fashion? When the temperatures are cooler and you want to be cozy, it can be hard to stay stylish too. Thankfully there are some great styles this winter that will help you do both!

Embrace winter florals

Florals are typically associated with spring and summer trends, but the good news is that winter also has some pretty floral pieces to help break up the seasonal blues. Winter florals are darker in tone, and are often found on long sleeve items of clothing. Take a look at some of the newest Fresh Soul dresses, which feature some gorgeous prints for the winter months. Keep things floaty and fresh for a feminine look.

Go over-the-knee

Over-the-knee boots have been one footwear trend that looks set to endure. Ideal for winter, over-the-knee boots can help keep your legs warm, while also adding some height and flattering your leg. There are some amazing ways to wear over-the-knee boots this winter, so make the investment to pair with your skirts, dresses and over your jeans for a simple and stylish winter look. Make sure you spray your fabrics with fabric protector to keep them looking as new throughout the winter months – you’d hate for a spot of rain to ruin your new favourite boots!

Invest in leather

Leather is the ultimate winter staple, offering a chic and fashionable way to dress up, or dress down an outfit. Ideal for every day, you can’t beat a classic leather look. Don’t be put off leather because you think it has to be tight-fitting – there are plenty of great pieces that feature paperbag waists, A-line silhouettes and looser fits that make it easy for anyone to pull off the leather look. If you’re going to choose one leather item to invest in, make it a cool leather jacket. If you check out sales in countries that are having their summer like the UK and the US, you can pick up some great bargains on authentic leather goods.

Cool-casual in loose knits and slim fits

A quick nose on Instagram or Pinterest will help you to delve deeper into the latest winter fashion trends. For easy, casual winter style, the clear winner is the chunky knit/skinny jean combo – complete with some gorgeous sunglasses and baker boy hat. It’s a cool look that’s perfect for the weekend and can be dressed up with heels or made even more casual with your favourite flats. Invest in several colours and styles to complete your winter look.

  1. While I’ve never tried the knee high boots (petite probs!) I do like so many of these other outfit pieces. I’m trying to make more of an effort to wear my knits and things before winter is over! I have so many and so few days to wear them, as it can warm up quite a bit here by the afternoon!

    1. OTK boots are actually pretty good for us petites – Jean from Extra Petite wears them so well. The only problem is… they’re not so mum friendly haha! I’d hate to get vomit on those Stuart Weitzman ones, as fabulous as they are! It’s so cold here in Sydney – I’ll try and send some of it your way so you can get some wear out of your knits 😀
